Strawberry Green Smoothie

RAW . VEGAN

This is one of my absolute favourite go-to green smoothie recipes because it's simple, delicious and never fails to make me smile! Packed full of anti-oxidants, protein and phytonutrients to help heal and energise your body.

If you're struggling to eat more fruit and veg, try a green smoothie! They are delicious when made the right way, will give you a good few of your 5 a day AND are quick and easy to do.

For me a green smoothie like this is perfect for lunch or breakfast. But if you find it doesn't fill you up enough you can add in another piece of fruit, such as a ripe pear or apple or some chopped pineapple. You could even make double the recipe!

Smoothie tip: Always drink your freshly blended drinks straight away for maximum nutritional value. If you have to take it with you on the road, pour it into a glass mason jar right to the top and pop the lid on. This will reduce the speed at which it oxidises.

Another way to preserve those nutrients longer is to use frozen fruits so that it keeps itself chilled for a while longer.

If you add more ingredients, remember to add a little more liquid to help it blend.

INGREDIENTS

1 large ripe Banana (fresh or frozen)

1 cup fresh chopped Strawberries

1 packed cup of baby leaf Spinach

1 cup pure water or Plant-based Milk (eg almond, cashew, coconut, oat)

1 tbsp ground Linseeds

2 tbsp Coconut Yoghurt

METHOD

Blend all the ingredients together in a high speed blender.

Drink straight away.

Blending tip: If you find you have green 'bits' in your smoothie, try blending the leafy greens with the liquid first, then add in the rest of the ingredients and blend again.
