Hey, thanks for stopping by!

I'm Andrea,

Today I feel amazing, but a few years ago I began to feel tired all the time, needing to take naps during the day.  I couldn't concentrate on anything, had insane sugar cravings and started to put on weight.

I had no energy to exercise.  My skin looked tired and dull, with spots that seemed to take months to clear up, and then I developed acne rosacea.

As a once fit and "healthy" person I was devastated to be given a diagnosis of hypothyroidism in my mid thirties, and told I would need to take medications for the rest of my life.

With a background in holistic therapies and natural healing I was determined to find a way to heal my body naturally, but it wasn't easy when I was feeling so tired and unable to focus on anything.

Even on the medications I still didn't feel good.  I tried various methods and diets, but nothing turned things around like raw food did.

Ironically, it was my craving for chocolate that helped me discover raw food.  The first time I tasted a raw chocolate cake I was completely blown away when I found out what the ingredients were, and so excited that there was a healthier way to enjoy chocolate!

I went on a mission to find out all I could about raw food, and I started to make some changes to my diet.  But I wasn't expecting the rapid turn around in my health that followed.

After starting to introduce daily green smoothies, more raw veggies, salads and deliciously healthy raw snacks, I quickly gained my energy back and started to exercise again.  I couldn't remember ever having this much energy, even in my twenties!

I very quickly began to lose the extra pounds, and within a few short months was able to eliminate medications and pain killers from my life.  My blood tests for hypothyroidism came back as borderline, and my doctor told me to keep doing whatever it was I was doing, which was really supportive.

Not only that, but my skin cleared of acne rosacea, and I no longer had to try to hide spots and redness under make up.

The severe period pain and PMS that had plagued my life since I was a young teenager was completely gone, which was a massive life changer for me.   Because along with that also went the high dose prescription pain killers I had been taking since I was a teenager so that I could actually function as a normal person during my periods.

People started to comment that I looked better than ever, my skin was glowing and the signs of ageing were beginning to reverse naturally.

I felt vibrant and alive again!

Raw foods changed my life and my health dramatically, but it took me years to figure out how to make raw fit into my life in a way that felt normal, and not like it was taking over everything else, or that I was a total weirdo and different from everyone else.

And yes, there were many times I "fell off the raw food wagon", so to speak, and these were the times I just didn't feel so good.   But this served as a great reminder to me of how powerful raw foods are and how much I truly thrived on them.

It wasn't just about my health, energy and glowing skin anymore.   I realised raw foods were impacting EVERY aspect of my life in pretty profound ways.  When I ate high raw my mind had more clarity and focus.  I felt more in touch with my inner voice and natural intuition.  I felt more aligned and connected to a feeling of wanting to live a truly authentic and purposeful life.

A life of meaning.

I wanted to share what I'd learnt so I could help others transform their lives and health.

I went on to train as a certified raw food coach with the internationally renowned Karen Knowler, the "original raw food coach" and now have almost 9 years personal experience of eating a high raw, mostly plant based diet.  What I loved about Karen's approach, and it's how I evolved with raw foods, is to keep things simple.

Now, in my late 40's, I'm navigating my way through peri-menopause naturally, and believe in a holistic approach to good health.  That includes taking care of my diet, lifestyle, positive mindset and well-being.

But I don't take an all-or-nothing approach to raw food, and I'm not super rigid about things. I like to keep things simple, and believe in being easy and sometimes going with the flow if it feels right.  If I had to spend hours preparing food and making recipes with a long list of ingredients, I'd probably never have stuck to it.

These days I eat a mostly raw, plant-based diet, occasionally a little goats cheese, fish and eggs.  I'm an intuitive eater and have learned what works best for me, and make adjustments to my diet as I feel the need.

I live in the UK with my gorgeous rescue dog, Billy.  I love going for long walks, practising a bit of yoga and meditation, and generally pottering around in the kitchen a fair bit!

It's my passion to other women find their spark of good health again through raw food!

Love,

Andrea x
